Paul Robinson

Born: 06/01/1982

Position: Defender

Squad number: 5

Profile: Quintessentially a Millwall centre-back, Robinson is walking the same one-club-man path as late legend Barry Kitchener. Tough, determined and courageous, Robinson is the rock at the heart of the Lions' defence who has grown into one of the best centre-backs outside of the Premier League.

Robinson will always be held in high regard for poking in the winning goal in the 2010 League One play-off final against Swindon at Wembley that saw Millwall promoted back to the second tier of English football.

A product of Millwall’s youth academy, Robinson worked his way into the first team under Colin Lee in 2005 and was handed the club captaincy by current boss Kenny Jackett.

During his early days as a professional, Robinson spent two loan spells away from The Den – the first in 2001 at Fisher Athletic, where he failed to make an appearance, and then at Devon side Torquay United in 2004. He made 13 appearances whilst at Plainmoor before sealing a place in the first team on his return to SE16.

Did you know: Robinson took a journalism course in 2011 at Staffordshire University.
