Profile: A true veteran of the game, Taylor was born in Hildesheim, a small market town in northern Germany.

He has racked up a total of 431 league appearances and 150 non-league appearances in a career that has spanned two decades. The majority of those league appearances have been in the Premier League for both Fulham and Birmingham.

Taylor's international debut for Northern Ireland came against the country of his birth in a 3-0 loss to Germany in 1990. He has since gone on to represent Northern Ireland 88 times and is the fifth-highest capped player for his country.

Taylor played a key role in helping Millwall avoid relegation in the second half of the 2011-12 season, having joined on loan from Leeds.

Taylor kept six clean sheets in his first ten appearances for the Lions,whilst also saving two crucial penalties away at Ipswich and Coventry. He subsequently signed a one-year contract with the club.

Did you know: Taylor actually has no connection whatsoever to Northern Ireland.  When Taylor was first called up, FIFA’s eligibility rules stated that a British Citizen born abroad could play for any of Britain’s constituent countries.
