Danny Shittu

Born: 2/9/80

Position: Defender

Squad Number: 3

Profile: Born in Lagos, the capital city of Nigeria, Shittu came through Charlton's youth set-up before being loaned out at the age of 21 to Blackpool and QPR.

Despite being sent-off on his QPR debut, Shittu ultimately impressed during his spell at Loftus Road before then-manager Ian Holloway signed him for £350,000.

He was then signed by Watford following their promotion to the Premier League in 2006 for £1.6million after making 162 appearances for The R's, scoring 16 times in four years – quite a prolific tally for a centre-back.

After two years at Vicarage Road, Shittu was then sold to Bolton for £2million, where he only managed 10 appearances in his two seasons at the Reebok Stadium.

After cancelling his contract by mutual consent, Shittu then signed for Millwall on a three-month contract in 2010, making 9 impressive performances before deciding to return to QPR.

Shittu was released by the Hoops at the end of the 2011-12 season before re-signing with the Lions following a successful trial period.

Shittu has represented his country Nigeria, a total of 28 times at international level.
