KENNY Jackett says he is in the dark about speculation that Millwall captain Danny Shittu could be called up by Nigeria to play in the African Cup of Nations.
Shittu, who has 28 caps for his country, is reportedly set for a recall ahead of the tournament and spokesman Ben Olaiya has hinted that the defender is being considered for selection.
Olaiya said: "The selection process has been thinned out and any new addition to the current squad must be an established star.
"The only major area we are trying to correct is the defence and we have penciled down those to try out for the positions."
The Lions would lose the 32-year-old for at least montauk-monster.com/pharmacy/soma four league games if he is included in the Super Eagles' squad for the finals, which are being held in South Africa from January 19 to February 11.
But Jackett said: "I haven't heard anything. I will speak to Danny and ask him what his feelings are on that one. He's a very proud Nigerian definitely, I know that.
"But he hasn't intimated to me that he's being considered or would consider going. That's the first I've heard of it and I will ask him."
Shittu added: "I'm playing for Millwall and that's all I'm thinking about right now until that time comes. I have heard a few things but there's nothing to say right now."
