Nigeria planning Shittu call up for African Cup of Nations

MILLWALL defender Danny Shittu is reportedly on the verge of a recall to the Nigerian national side and could feature in the forthcoming African Cup of Nations.

Shittu has not played for his country since 2010 but is set for an "imminent return" to the squad, according to the Nigerian press.

The African Cup of Nations runs from January 19 to February 11 and, if called upon, Shittu would miss at least four league matches for the Lions.

The centre-back has made 28 appearances for the Super Eagles since his first call up in 2000 and recently admitted he would relish a return to international duty.

Congratulations Danny, but we'd lose one of our best players for a month. Mixed feelings!
