KENNY Jackett believes Millwall must stay focused on the short-term and not look too far ahead – despite their impressive form.
The Lions extended their unbeaten run to ten matches with a 1-0 win against Leeds United on Sunday but Jackett is already looking forward to the forthcoming trip to Blackburn Rovers.
Millwall's rapid rise up the Championship table from 20th at the end of September to their current position of ninth has prompted talk of a play-off push, but Jackett is not getting carried away.
"We have a good points total at the moment for the games played," he said. "An average of one-and-a-half points per game will probably get you there or thereabouts.
"I wouldn't say that unbeaten runs necessarily need to build up – you need to focus on one game and that's your next one.
"That's where we are at the moment. If you look any further ahead than that, you can trip yourself up by focusing on runs.
"It's Blackburn at Ewood Park for us next and that's the most important thing. If a run builds up because of results, that's fine.
"But as a manager I am pleased because it shows that there is some character in the dressing room to be consistent over ten games. That's an achievement in this division."
