MILLWALL are "considering potential courses of action" after The Daily Mail reported that Leeds United's El-Hadji Diouf had been racially abused at The Den.

The newspaper's website claimed that the Lions' 1-0 win on Sunday had been "marred by monkey chants from sections of home crowd" – but the winger heard nothing untoward from the terraces.

Chief executive Andy Ambler confirmed: "This kind of journalism is extremely frustrating. We are considering what action we can take."

Millwall have received an apology from the Daily Mail after the article was removed, but added in a satement: "This article was based solely on Twitter posts.

"El-Hadji Diouf has spoken to representatives of Millwall and confirmed that he did not receive any racial abuse and had no complaint to make.

"The club has spoken to the MailOnline in the strongest possible terms requesting that the article be removed, which it now has been.

"Millwall are considering potential further courses of action following this damaging accusation."

Sod the apology, Make a stand Millwall do them for it. These people need to learn and maybe they will in the future choose their reporting more carefully

Now is the time Ambler earned his corn. These are the true enemies of the state, irresponsible journalists & established tabloids who sanction these articles. Time to bring in the media lawyers wall!!

The Daily Mail (providers of the headline 'Immigrants Eat Swans'), state that they based their column on tweets - fantastic journalism. Maybe they misinterpreted the salute to Shittu ??? Who can forget the reporter who accused us of shouting 'sieg heil' when in fact we were shouting 'cheese rolls' in response to palace's shouts of 'eagles'. Millwall should sue the mail as a clear indication that we will not stand for this anymore. Horrible creature though he is, fair play to Diouf for setting the record straight. I saw our club chaplain, Fr. Beaumont, in the bar after the match today and asked him what he reckoned the chances were of Diouf getting to heaven; he told me 'he has some work to do yet'. Perhaps he heard the Father!!!!!

Agreed, El-Hadji Diouf is a stain but in this case acted with honour. Maybe we should roll out a banner at the next game with "El-Hadji Diouf is not a C***"

I thought the 'sieg heil' incident involved Brighton fans or was Palace another one?
