Forde: Millwall have Palace and top-six in their sights now

GOALKEEPER David Forde believes Millwall could catch up with table-topping Crystal Palace if they can maintain their good form.

The Lions are on a nine-game unbeaten run and moved up to tenth in the Championship table after beating Derby on Saturday, having been languishing in 21st at the end of September.

And Forde sees no reason why Kenny Jackett's side can not climb even higher – and says closing the gap between their South London rivals at the summit is a realistic aim.

"The fans aren't too happy about seeing Palace top of the league but you never know, we could catch them," he said.

"We've always said we want to be a top ten club and we want to maintain that but we're on the coat tails of the play-offs now.

"You look at teams like Reading last year and if you get some momentum like we have a the moment you can really kick on.

"We're absolutely flying at the moment and long may it continue. We keep saying that to go nine unbeaten in this division is a big achievement and we're determined to keep it going.

"To put a run together like this is fantastic and we're turning The Den back into a fortress where teams don't particularly like coming down to.

"We come hard to beat and that's the minimum requirement and if you can do that, you grind out draws and then they turn into wins just like we did at the start of the run.

"Thankfully we've kept the momentum going and long may it continue."
