JOE Gallen admits Millwall will be powerless to prevent Mark Beevers from returning to Sheffield Wednesday if they decide to recall him before January.
NewsAtDen revealed last week that terms had been agreed for Beevers to stay at The Den on loan until the New Year, but the Owls have retained the right to cut the deal short.
"Within the extension there's going to be a 24-hour recall clause," Gallen confirmed. "It will be an extension until January 1 but the slight problem is that they can call him back.
"Since he's arrived he's played really well. Hopefully he stays and they don't recall him."
Beevers has made five appearances, scoring one goal, since joining the Lions at the start of October and Gallen admitted the centre-back has helped to solidify a defence that was leaking goals at an alarming rate.
"At the start of the season we were looking to find a formula to get some points and wins," he said. We were getting a lot of injuries to our defenders and that disruption was causing us problems.
"We were letting in too many goals. Since the group has settled down we've built relationships within the team and some confidence has come."
