TAMIKA Mkandawire has joined Southend United on loan until January 1 after the Millwall midfielder was passed fit for match action.
NewsAtDen revealed last week that Mkandawire was standing by to join the Shrimpers once he had overcome a niggling injury picked up in training.
The 29-year-old has not played competitively for the Lions since last November, when he had surgery on a knee injury, and boss Kenny Jackett will hope that a spell in League Two will bring Mkandawire back up to speed.
Southend manager Paul Sturrock said: "Tamika is a quality player and I'm delighted everything has now been sorted for him to join us."
Mkandawire will not be able to play against Stockport County in the FA Cup on Saturday after being denied permission to play by Millwall.
