CHAIRMAN John Berylson has confirmed that Millwall will pursue a permanent deal for West Brom loanee Chris Wood in the January transfer window.
Wood has scored five goals in eight appearances since joining the Lions in September and recently told NewsAtDen that he "definitely" wants to sign for the club on a full-time basis.
And Berylson says he will try and negotiate a deal with the Baggies after Christmas.
"We'll try [to sign him]," he told Lions Live. "Chris is someone we've known about for years.
"West Brom will have to make a decision as to whether they want to sell him or not and set a price. Hopefully we can meet in the middle.
"It took us 20 or 30 days to come to grips with Andy Keogh and Wolves last year. It [the fee] ended up pretty much where we started. They used us as a springboard to try and get more. We'll see what happens.
"Chris has fit in great. I hope he likes being here. Everybody knows I've always wanted us to be strong up front. He'd be great to have and it's something I'm always thinking about."
