KENNY Jackett hailed Darius Henderson as the perfect strike partner for Chris Wood after the West Brom loanee struck twice in the 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
Wood stole the headlines after his second successive brace propelled the Lions to their biggest win of the season, but Jackett was quick to praise the influence of Henderson.
"Wood is a goalscorer and he has formed a decent partnership with Darius," he said. "I think Chris has thrived on Darius' leadership and experience.
"As a young player coming in, he couldn't have a better partner at the moment and he will be the first to say that Darius has really helped him.
"Henderson has been a leader and a key player for us. I thought Henderson was terrific against Huddersfield. It's nice to se your front two combine.
"For the first goal, Henderson put in a good tackle in midfield, got it onto his left foot and put a ball in but Chris still had a bit to do. He's slid it underneath the keeper – a goalscorer's goal."
