Scoring first Millwall goal felt "amazing", says winger Taylor

MILLWALL winger Chris Taylor admitted he was delighted to score his first goal for the club against Birmingham City, labelling it an "unbelievable" feeling.

Taylor was making only his second start for the Lions on the back of an impressive performance against Crystal Palace in last Saturday's South London derby – a game in which he came agonisingly close to scoring.

The 25-year-old headed against the bar in first-half stoppage time at Selhurst Park but he made amends for that miss by notching his first for the club against the Blues.

But the former Oldham star said he was frustrated that his goal, which put Millwall 2-0 up in the 13th minute, did not lead to three points after Marlon King's hat-trick rescued a point for the visitors.

"When I scored it felt amazing," he said. "Every time you hit the back of the net it's an unbelievable feeling. It's just a shame that it didn't come with the three points.

"I've got to keep playing well and show the manager what I can bring to the team. I can create chances for teammates and hopefully notch a few myself.

"It's down to me and I can't give him an excuse to pull me out with a bad game. I've got to stay on my toes because there are some good players here.

"A lot of people will talk about the negatives rather than the positives, which will be a shame.

"It could have been four or five early on. Chris Wood had a couple of chances to get his hat-trick. It should have been dead and buried."

Let's hope Chrissie Taylors goal was only the first of many. He's put in two good perfromances on the spin and deserves to stay in the side.

Quality addition to the side. With regards to KJ, I think he won't get the perfect starting 11 or formation until the new year. If we can keep moving up the table gradually there is a good chance that we could start taking liberties with teams by January 2013. I'm with you Kenny!
