West Brom striker wants to make Millwall move permanent

CHRIS Wood reiterated his desire to join Millwall on a permanent basis in January after scoring two goals against Birmingham.

The West Brom loanee has previously admitted that he would consider joining the Lions on a full-time deal and now says he "definitely" wants the move to materialise.

"It's something that I want to do," he said. "I'm playing football here and I'm enjoying it. I'm creating chances and scoring goals which is the main thing.

"The boys have made me welcome and I've got on well with them, so I don't see why not."

Manager Kenny Jackett says there have been no talks with the Baggies about keeping the 20-year-old beyond the end of his loan spell.

"I've kept in touch with West Brom and they've asked me about his progress," he said. "That's more the coaching staff rather than the powers that be, but there haven't been any negotiations.

"They've quite rightly been very keen to find out what our opinion is of him and how he's been doing.

"We have him until Christmas. With regular football, we do feel he has improvement in him and that was a big reason for me in taking him on loan and bringing him to the club in the first place."
