FA Youth Cup report: Chelsea 1-0 Millwall

Alex Grace at Stamford Bridge

MILLWALL bowed out of the FA Youth Cup on Thursday night, losing 1-0 to nine-time winners Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a battling display.

Armando Broja's second-half goal sent the Blues through to the last four.

Backed by 1,000 Millwall fans, and with senior boss Gary Rowett in attendance, the young Lions gave an excellent account of themselves against a club that have won this competition in five of the last six years.

Chelsea thought they had taken the lead 18 minutes in through Broja who found the net, but his foot was high on Ben Bennett, who had to be replaced with Ezekiel Miller.

The hosts dominated possession and got the crucial goal when Broja finished past Leighton Fanshawe in the 62nd minute.
