Millwall get reunion with former goalkeeper in FA Cup third-round draw

MILLWALL will play Newport County in the third round of the 2019-20 FA Cup.

It will be the sides’ first meeting since February 1985 when Millwall won 2-0 at home in a Division Three fixture.

The clubs have met 60 times in their history, with the Lions winning 29 and 15 draws.

League Two Newport have former Millwall goalkeeper Tom King in their squad. King has been called up to the Wales squad this season. He played against Tottenham when Millwall reached the quarter-finals in 2017 (above).

Lions right-back Danny McNamara is also on loan at the Welsh club.

Newport are 11th in the fourth tier. Mike Flynn’s side defeated Grimsby 2-0 in a first-round replay before winning 1-0 at Maldon & Tiptree in the second round.

The ties will be played the weekend beginning Friday, January 3.
