Date of Brighton clash changed because of transport worries

MILLWALL'S away match at Brighton, originally scheduled for Boxing Day, has been brought forward to Tuesday, December 18 because of transport concerns.

The Football League has agreed to the change as bus and train operators will be running a reduced service on December 26 and 75% of fans use public transports to get to the Amex Stadium.

And as there are no local parking facilities either, the match will now be a midweek kick-off (19:45).

Albion chief executive Paul Barber said: "It was clear that for a stadium which relies so heavily on public transport it would have been impossible to be able to guarantee the safe and convenient movement of 26,000-plus spectators.

"On behalf of the club, I would like to thank the Football League and Millwall, both of whom have been extremely helpful in reaching this agreement and for the support of our safety advisory group."
