'He's been getting better and better' – Millwall caretaker hopes midfielder has avoided injury

MILLWALL caretaker boss Adam Barrett hopes Ryan Leonard hasn’t suffered serious knee damage.

Leonard went off in the 28th minute of the 2-1 win over Leeds at Then Den on Saturday and was on crutches leaving the stadium.

“It was a challenge on his knee,” Barrett said after Saturday’s game. “I can’t give any information on that at the moment. I haven’t had time to speak to see him properly. [The medical staff] will assess that and hopefully it’s not long-term because I think Ryan was outstanding until he came off.

“He has been getting better and better the last two performances so fingers crossed it isn’t too bad for him."
