Millwall's Fergie plays in Northern Ireland win

SHANE Ferguson played left-back as Northern Ireland warmed up for their European Championship qualifying fixture against Germany with a 1-0 friendly win at home to Luxembourg on Thursday night. 

Ferguson played 90 minutes for Michael O 'Neill's side as Kevin Malget's own goal gave the hosts the victory over the 91st-ranked side in the world.

Former Lions players Conor McLaughlin and George Saville also started in Belfast. Northern Ireland face the European powerhouses on Monday with four wins from the their first four Group C games.



Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is with the Iceland squad as they prepare to take on Moldova in Group H on Saturday.

Meanwhile Millwall defender Danny McNamara will hope to make his international debut as Ireland under-21s host Armenia in their European Championships qualifier on Friday night.
