PREMIER League referee Phil Dowd, who officiated last season's FA Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool, will take charge of Millwall's match at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Dowd has not overseen a match involving the Lions since the 2002-03 season – and also took charge of the South London derby that year, a 1-0 win for the Eagles in December 2002.

The 49-year-old has shown 29 yellow cards and one red in just seven games this season. Dowd's last match was Arsenal's 3-1 win over West Ham on October 6, when he handed out five bookings.

The Staffordshire official has been handed several showpiece matches in his career, including the 2010 League Cup final and the 2011 Community Shield.
