MILLWALL striker Andy Keogh has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands after suffering "mild concussion" in training.
The 26-year-old was not on the plane that left Dublin for Torshavn today and is expected to return to training with the Lions ahead of their Championship clash with Crystal Palace.
Keogh was Ireland's lone goalscorer in a heavy 6-1 defeat to Germany last week and had been tipped to start against the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
But an FAI spokesman confirmed: "Keogh suffered a knock to the head in training.
"He was observed overnight by the FAI medical team and has been ruled unfit to travel to the Faroe Islands this afternoon due to mild concussion."
