'That won't be the team against Preston' – Millwall boss has 'tough decisions' to make

MILLWALL boss Neil Harris said the side that started in the 3-3 draw with Real Sociedad on Saturday will not be the line-up for the first game of the 2019-20 Championship season against Preston next weekend.

Harris admitted he has “tough decisions” who to pick against Alex Neil’s side. Millwall are also set to add to their squad this week.

“I have got some tough decisions to make I have got to be honest,” Harris said. “I have about 13 or 14 players that possibly deserve to play next weekend [based] over the course of pre-season on their performances.

“That won’t be the team that plays next week against Preston. What fans might envision happening next week in the first game of the season in their heads, they might not see next week.

“It’s a great position for me to be in, I have some tough decisions to make on players because there is real competition for places. I look forward to making those decisions this week.”

Millwall starting XI against Sociedad: Fielding; Romeo, Pearce, Cooper, M Wallace; J Wallace, Thompson, Williams, Mahoney; O’Brien; Smith.
