OWEN Coyle has joined a growing list of managers to be sacked in the wake of losing to Millwall.
Bolton announced on Tuesday morning that Coyle had been removed from his position as the club's manager – just days after overseeing a 2-1 defeat to the Lions.
Coyle becomes the fifth boss in three years to lose his job after a defeat to Millwall, joining the likes of Sven Goran Eriksson, John Barnes, George Burley and Steve Coppell in an infamous club.
Barnes' managerial debut with Tranmere was brought to an end after a 5-0 thumping at The Den in October 2009, while Burley's tenure at Crystal Palace was curtailed following a 3-0 loss in SE16 in January 2011.
Coppell walked away from his position as Bristol City boss after a 3-0 opening-day defeat to Millwall in August 2011, before Eriksson was sacked by Leicester on the back of a 3-0 defeat to the Lions just two months later.
