Exclusive: Millwall offer striker 'lucrative' new deal

MILLWALL have made Lee Gregory a contract offer – and are now waiting for the striker to come back with a decision.

Gregory's current deal expires in the summer when he could leave on a free transfer. He has previously been linked with a move to Sheffield United – he is Sheffield-born – but Blades boss Chris Wilder played down that speculation last summer.

Gregory, who will be 31 next August, has been Millwall's top scorer in three of his four full seasons with the club and is leading the charts this campaign with nine goals.

Lee Gregory is ninth in the list of Millwall all-time record scorers

Gregory would have no shortage of admirers if he decided to leave. He joined from Halifax Town in June 2014 for £250,000 and is Millwall's ninth all-time leading scorer with 73 goals in all competitions.

Millwall do not want to lose him, and NewsAtDen has been told he has been offered "very lucrative" new terms.

It is now up to the centre-forward whether he wants to extend his Millwall career beyond this season.
