DANNY McNamara made his Welling debut as they drew 1-1 at home to Dulwich Hamlet in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy on Saturday.
McNamara moved to the National League South side last week and made his presence felt as he was booked for a foul on Anthony Cook before a number of Hamlet players surrounded referee Steven Hughes feeling a more severe punishment was needed.
The sides replay their tie in the non-league competition on Wednesday night.
In League One, Ben Thompson shone again in midfield as Portsmouth extended their lead to four points over Sunderland with a 2-1 win at Scunthorpe.
Fred Onyedinma was also on the winning side, for Wycombe as they defeated Shrewsbury 3-2 to move up to 12th in the table.
Tom King was on the bench as AFC Wimbledon came from behind to defeat Southend 2-1. The Dons are still joint-bottom with Bradford.
And in League Two, Sid Nelson played in the centre of defence and helped Swindon to a clean sheet as they won 1-0 at Port Vale.
