Millwall stopper keeps clean sheet on return to help Dons progress in EFL Trophy

GOALKEEPER Tom King made his first appearance since September 15 and kept a clean sheet to help AFC Wimbledon into the last 32 of the Checkatrade Trophy.

King, 23, returned to the side for the first time since a 3-2 League One defeat at home to Scunthorpe, as Kwesi Appiah, Anthony Wordsworth, Tyler Garratt, and Alfie Egan scored in a 4-0 win over Stevenage on Tuesday night.

The Dons and Charlton emerged from their group and now go into the Southern Section of the next round.

Wycombe bow out of the competition at the group stage. Fred Onyedinma started at home against Oxford but the Chairboys lost 3-0. It was the first defeat for Gareth Ainsworth's side who won their other two games but go out on goal difference.
