Millwall attacker scores on international debut

AIDEN O'Brien scored on his international debut as the Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 against Poland in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

O'Brien, who played up front, glanced home Callum O'Dowda's cross to give Martin O'Neill's side the lead in the 53rd minute.

Shaun Williams, winning his third full cap, started in midfield and Ireland were close to a morale-boosting win before Leeds United's Mateusz Klich equalised in the 87th minute.

Meanwhile, Shane Ferguson came on as a second-half substitute in Northern Ireland's 3-0 friendly win over Israel at Windsor Park. Conor McLaughlin was on the bench.
