Millwall agree deal for Bolton Wanderers stopper

MILLWALL are set to sign Ben Amos from Bolton Wanderers.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper will join the Lions on a one-year loan deal from their Championship rivals.

Amos was recommended to Millwall boss Neil Harris by new goalkeeping coach Lee Turner, who worked with the stopper last season at Charlton.

Amos began his career at Manchester United and made seven senior appearances for the Red Devils. He joined Bolton on a free transfer in July 2015 and also spent a season on loan with Cardiff.

Amos is in the final year of his contract and was caught up in a recent dispute at Bolton over unpaid wages and bonuses.

Bolton's players refused to play a scheduled friendly against St Mirren last week, with Amos reportedly not receiving his June salary.

Millwall have been on the lookout for a new keeper, and Amos will provide competition for Jordan Archer and David Martin.
