JORDAN Archer was given his first taste of international football in the early hours of Wednesday morning as he started and played 90 minutes for Scotland in their 2-0 defeat to Peru in Lima.
Christian Cueva put the South Americans ahead from the penalty spot eight minutes before half-time and just two minutes after the break Peru doubled their lead as Jefferson Farfan’s weak effort managed to squeeze under the Lions goalkeeper.
Elsewhere, Shane Ferguson earned his 35th international cap as his Northern Ireland side drew 0-0 against one of England’s 2018 World Cup opponents, Panama.
