Millwall midfielders doubts for Aston Villa clash

GEORGE Saville and Ben Marshall are injury doubts for Millwall’s final Championship fixture of the season on Sunday.

Saville missed his first league game of the campaign when he was ruled out of the trip to Middlesbrough last Saturday.

Lions boss Neil Harris intends to field a strong side against Aston Villa at The Den. Millwall can still finish in seventh place.

Ben Marshall is also a doubt. He was stretchered off in the 54th minute of the 2-0 defeat at The Riverside Stadium when he suffered a gash to his knee (above).

“George got a whack in the first half against Fulham, he had a swollen leg and couldn’t train before Middlesbrough,” Harris said.

“It will be a late call, we’ll see if he can train this week.

“We’re not sure yet with Ben. He needed stitches in his leg but it’s healing quite nicely. Again, we’ll see how he gets on this week and make a late call before Villa.”

If Saville and Marshall are not available, Ryan Tunnicliffe is likely to continue in midfield beside Shaun Williams, while Aiden O'Brien could make his first start since January 20.
