Millwall boss a fan of Fulham superstar

NEIL Harris is a fan of Fulham prodigy Ryan Sessegnon – and praised him as a “humble young man”.

Millwall need to find a way to stop a player that cleaned up at this week’s EFL awards, where he was named Championship Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season and Championship Apprentice of the Year.

He was also the first ever player from outside the top flight nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Sessegnon is still only 17 but has attracted interest from a host of top English and European sides, Barcelona and PSG the latest to be credited with an interest in the England under-21 international.

The left-sided player has scored 14 times for Fulham this season.

“He’s a good player. Any player at the age of 17 who plays 30 games at left-back and scores goals and then goes and plays left-wing and scores goals is a top talent,” Harris said.

“I hope his career moves on and he graces the Premier League for a long time and the national set-up. Whether it’s with or without Fulham I’m sure he will be playing Premier League football next year.

“He’s done extremely well and listening to him talk in his interviews he seems like a very humble young man. He’s one of many players that we’ve got to keep quiet on Friday night. To do that we’ve got to be a very solid Millwall team.

“Fulham have had an excellent season after a slow start, like ourselves before Christmas.”

Meanwhile Harris offered his congratulations to Nuno Santo after Wolves secured promotion to the Premier League.

Wolves are a point away from winning the Championship title

Harris said: “Congratulations goes to Nuno because you might have a great budget and you might have very, very good players, but you’ve still got to win games of football. They’ve been there week-in, week-out and we all had a go at them but they’re still top of the league.

“They deserve to win promotion and to win the league.

“The scrap is on behind for second and for fifth and sixth places.”
