MILLWALL goalkeeper Harry Girling saved a penalty on his debut but couldn’t prevent nine-man Cheshunt going down to a 3-1 defeat to Heybridge Swifts at the weekend.
Girling joined the Bostick North side last week and was straight into the thick of the action. Cheshunt are 23rd in the table battling relegation.
Tom King played for Stevenage in their 2-2 draw at former Lions player David Worrall’s Port Vale.
Stevenage are 16th in League Two, and after the result they sacked manager Darren Sarll.
Sid Nelson’s Chesterfield drew 1-1 at Cheltenham Town, but they need to claw back six points on Grimsby, Forest Green or Crewe to stay up.
Carlisle let a two-goal lead slip against Crawley Town. Kris Twardek came on in the 77th minute for Carlisle, James Brown was on the bench.
In National League South, Jamie Philpot came off the bench for Welling to score an equaliser, but his side lost 3-1 at home to Oxford City. Welling dropped to 10th in the table, two points off the play-offs.
In League One, Jimmy Abdou played 63 minutes as AFC Wimbledon drew with Rochdale. The Dons are three points outside the relegation places.
