MILLWALL are sweating on the fitness of three players ahead of the visit of Brighton to The Den on Saturday.
Captain Paul Robinson, full-back Jack Smith and winger Chris Taylor will be assessed prior to tomorrow’s fixture, with all three rated as 50-50 to play.
Skipper Robinson sustained an ankle injury last weekend in the defeat to Hull City, which subsequently enforced his absence in the midweek defeat to Cardiff City.
Smith has been struggling with a thigh injury since the league opener against Blackpool last month, while Taylor picked up a knock against the Bluebirds during his second-half appearance as a substitute.
Manager Kenny Jackett may opt to make changes to the side that lost to Cardiff, with forward Chris Wood pushing for his first start.
Centre-back Danny Shittu could also return as the Lions look to shore up a leaky defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet in their first seven fixtures of the season.
Striker John Marquis has been ruled out until the new year due to a groin injury sustained last week, while winger Liam Feeney continues his recovery from an ankle injury. Feeney is not expected to return to first-team affairs for six weeks.
Tamika Mkandawire looks unlikely to be involved with the first team for the foreseeable future, with Jackett indicating his desire for the midfielder to go out on loan in a bid to regain match fitness.
Brighton are set to welcome back Wales international Andrew Crofts to their matchday squad following his recovery from a hamstring injury.
However, playmaker Vincente has not fully recovered from a tendon injury and is thus ruled out of tomorrow’s fixture.
Former Lions loanee Will Hoskins is sidelined with a broken foot, but midfielder David Lopez could make his first Seagulls start.
