NEIL Harris believes Harry Toffolo “fits the bill perfectly” after the left-back singed from Norwich City this week.
Toffolo arrived at the club as competition for James Meredith, before Tony Craig had his contract terminated as he sought first-team football.
Harris was pleased to be able to bring Toffolo on board.
“He fits the bill perfectly for us in the sense that he’s a good age,” Harris said. “He’s played over 80 first-team games in the Championship and League One which at the age of 22 is phenomenal.
“He’s out of contract in the summer so we’ve taken it over until then for him to have a look at us and us to have a look at him.
“It’s an opportunity for Harry to stay in the Championship and impress to earn a contract for next year.
“He’s a very, very good footballer, very good going forward. He played exceptionally well against us in Scunthorpe’s 3-0 win against us last season.
“After the experience we’ve brought in in Jason Shackell, we’ve brought in a youthful player in Harry Toffolo.”
Toffolo should be available to face Reading this weekend.
“He’s just come back from a foot injury. He played 45 minutes and 75 minutes in under-23 football for Norwich last week.”
