Millwall sign full-back from Norwich City

MILLWALL have snapped up left-back Harry Toffolo from Championship rivals Norwich City.

Toffolo, 22, joins the Lions until the end of the season after the club took over his contract from the Canaries. He could go straight into the match-day squad for the league clash with Derby County at The Den on Tuesday night.

Toffolo spent the first half of the season on loan at Doncaster, before he broke two toes in December. He featured for Norwich under-23s last week, and was taking full part in Millwall's training session at Calmont Road on Monday morning as they prepare for the clash against the Rams.

The defender won the FA Youth Cup with Norwich, when they defeated Chelsea in 2013, but played just two senior games for the Canaries, both in the League Cup.

Millwall is Toffolo's fifth loan club, after previous spells with Swindon, Rotherham and Peterborough. He was in the Scunthorpe side that defeated the Lions 3-0 in League One in December 2016.

Millwall have been monitoring Toffolo for over two seasons, and he arrives to provide competition for the left-back spot for James Meredith.
