Millwall's Moro: I got stick from Leeds fans – but I showed what I can do

STEVE Morison admitted he was “crap” when he played for Leeds – but felt he showed his former club his real ability as he played a key role in Millwall’s 4-3 win at Elland Road on Saturday.

Morison set up the Lions’ first two goals, before Leeds – down to 10 men after Liam Cooper’s red card – scored three times after the break to rock their opponents.

But Millwall rallied late on and sealed a stunning win when Jed Wallace scored in injury-time from another Morison pass after Tom Elliott had equalised.

Morison played for Leeds from 2013 to 2015 and was abused by home fans throughout the weekend’s game, but he had the last laugh as he celebrated with his team-mates as the Lions claimed their first away win of the season.

“I had a really good afternoon, then a bad afternoon and then a pretty good one all in one,” Morison said.

“I thought I played well and it’s a shame the Leeds fans never got to see me play like that as I was crap when I played here.

“That’s what I can do but I never did it for them so I can understand their frustration towards me.

“It was pantomime stuff today and I got a couple of good assists. I was getting plenty of stick and they never like it when it’s turned on its head, do they?

“We nearly threw the game away, but in the end we came out on top. That might be an amazing game for the fans but that’s not an amazing game to play in.

“You don’t want to play football like that, you shouldn’t have to score four goals just to win a game, especially when you are 2-0 up against 10 men.”
