QPR boss reveals what he expects from Millwall

IAN Holloway has urged his players not to be distracted in the expected hostile atmosphere at The Den when he returns there with QPR on Friday night.

Former Millwall boss Holloway revealed he “can’t wait” for the fixture against a “very good” Lions side.

And he is confident ahead of the trip to south London.

“People say The Den is a tough place to go but I have won there a lot so I can’t wait,” he told QPR’s official website. “I know what my players can expect and I will be selecting the team accordingly.

“It’s a fantastic challenge for us and what the players need to do is not be distracted, focus on the game and nothing else.

“Millwall have got a very good team and I’m very pleased for them – but I want to go there and win.

“I believe we are in a good place. Yes, we need to get some more results but if you look at the last few performances I believe we are going to get them.

“We have got the ability in this group to give anyone a game and I believe we can be higher up in the table. What we have to do is go out there and make it happen, there are no excuses.”

Two of the Lions’ expected starting line-up – Lee Gregory and Shaun Williams – were signed by Holloway, and he outlined what he expects from Friday’s opponents.

He said: “Millwall will try to turn us, they will play from back to front really quickly with good skill, into [Steve] Morison, into [Tom) Elliott, for Gregory to run in behind.

“They have got lots of ability and whenever they cross it they get four men into the box, so full credit to them.

“They will back that up with a high press, with a midfield four that will get at you. What we have to do is deal with that.

“We are going to need all those battling qualities again.”
