MILLWALL manager Neil Harris is hoping the return of Tom Elliott will take some of the pressure off Steve Morison.
Elliott is back in training after injury and should be available against Brentford next Saturday.
Morison, 34, has played all but 15 minutes in the league this season. He went down with a knock early in the 2-1 win over Reading last month, but carried on as Harris was without Elliott and the suspended Lee Gregory.
“I’ve really pushed Steve, really flogged him,” Harris said. “We saw that in the last two games, he was fatigued and I’ve probably asked too much of him. Physically that has shown.
“But it’s important for us that we’ve had that figurehead at the top of the pitch.
“We certainly look forward to having Tom back in the group.”
Meanwhile, Millwall’s six international players will return to training later this week. Conor McLaughlin, Shane Ferguson and George Saville all featured in Northern Ireland’s final two World Cup qualifying fixtures.
Kris Twardek also made his senior international debut, in Canada’s 1-0 friendly defeat to El Salvador.
