SHAUN Hutchinson believes Lions boss Neil Harris has "built something a bit special" at the south London club.
Millwall have adapted to life in the Championship, and face Barnsley – who defeated them in the 2016 League One play-off final – on Saturday.
Hutchinson, 26, is pleased with how the season is going, and is looking to stay at Millwall for the long term.
He said: "There's an option in my contract. I'm really enjoying my time here. I had a good pre-season and when you go into the season with that it puts you in good stead. If you don't get that you're always playing catch-up.
"I believe that the gaffer has built something a bit special here with his recruitment.
"I think every single player here would say the same thing. We're all on the same wavelength. Everyone wants to play for him, everyone is happy here.
"When you have that combination it's written to have success. I'm certainly enjoying it.
"If you're coming in just to survive in this league you're going to set yourself up to fail.
"Even now we think about the points we have dropped. We do feel we could be higher up the league. I don't see why we can't push on."
