AIDEN O’Brien has been called into the Republic of Ireland’s senior international squad for the first time.
O’Brien has been named by Martin O’Neill in his provisional squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Wales next month.
O’Brien, 23, qualifies through his grandparents and has represented the country at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level.
O’Brien told NewsAtDen this week: “I always tune in with my family, we’re big supporters. I believe in myself and that I could produce at that level.”
Kris Twardek, meanwhile, has received his first call-up to the Canada squad. They play El Salvador in a friendly on October 8.
