Championship preview: Millwall vs. Leeds United

AIDEN O’Brien is back from suspension and could replace Lee Gregory, who starts the first game of his three-game ban after his red card in the 2-2 draw at QPR on Tuesday.

Fred Onyedinma is also an option for Lions boss Neil Harris to partner Steve Morison in attack.

Tom Elliott will miss out against his former club as he recovers from a quad injury.

Leeds arrive in south London top of the Championship under Thomas Christiansen, who took over from Garry Monk in the summer.

Leeds have racked up some impressive statistics so far this season. Goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald has kept six successive Championship clean sheets, having not conceded since the 3-2 win at Bolton on the opening day.

They have won their last four league games by at least two goals without conceding – a first in their history.

Ironically, that run began after the sale of striker Chris Wood to Burnley for £15million. His replacement, Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who was signed on loan from Hamburg, scored twice on his debut in the 5-0 win over Burton last Saturday.

Lasogga is one of 24 signings this season as Christiansen has overhauled his squad, particularly in attack. Leeds are the divisions top scorers with 14 goals, and no side has conceded fewer than them in the league this season.

The attendance this weekend is expected to be Millwall’s biggest since the 1-0 win over Leicester City in the fifth round of the FA Cup last February.

But Wiedwald isn’t worried about a potentially hostile atmosphere.

“I have played in big stadiums like Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund,” he said. “So, this will not be new for me to play in front of a big atmosphere. I am looking forward to being there and we want the three points.”
