CARDIFF City boss Malky Mackay has paid tribute to his Millwall counterpart Kenny Jackett ahead of Tuesday's meeting between the two clubs.

The Bluebirds arrive at The Den in high spirits on the back of a 2-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday but Mackay says he is expecting a "tough game".

Jackett has been installed as 9/2 favourite by one bookmaker to replace under-pressure Chris Coleman as Wales manager – and Mackay says the Lions manager is a well-respected figure within the game.

When asked at a press conference whether Jackett would suit international management, Mackay said: "Kenny's an experienced manager, a good manager. He's done very well with Millwall.

"You speak within football and he's certainly not underrated as a manager – I read last week that he's been linked with the job.

"There's a certain reputation that comes with going down to Millwall. I've had okay results at The Den.

"It was tough for us there last year but the season before with Watford I had a really good win. But I've no doubts that it will be a tough game."
