Millwall loan watch: Youngster in promising debut

JAMES Brown made a very encouraging debut for Carlisle in their Checkatrade Trophy tie at Morecambe on Tuesday night.

Brown started at right-back and was a regular threat going forward as his side won 2-0 after goals from Hallam Hope and Jason Kennedy.

Sid Nelson made it two wins from two since he moved on loan to Yeovil, coming on as an 86th-minute substitute against Exeter for a Glovers side showing five changes from their 2-0 win over Coventry in League Two at the weekend. Yeovil won 3-1 against their opponents in their Southern Group D fixture.

Jimmy Abdou was rested as AFC Wimbledon won 4-3 at Barnet.

In the National League on Monday, meanwhile, Jamie Philpot came on in the 83rd minute as Woking defeated Torquay United 4-1.
