CHRIS Wood says the opportunity to play regular first-team football was the motivation behind his loan move to Millwall.

The West Brom striker has joined the Lions on a initial two-month youth loan that expires on November 20, but can be extended further.

The Baggies have the right to recall the 20-year-old after 28 days.

The New Zealand international, who is a free agent in the summer, will go straight into Kenny Jackett's squad for the visit of Cardiff City to The Den tomorrow evening.

"I'm not in the first team picture at West Brom so I'm dying to start playing regular football again," he told the club's official site.

"In January I will give some thought to my longer term future, but for now I'm just looking forward to playing for Millwall and hopefully scoring some goals."
