Millwall stopper gets Scotland World Cup call

JORDAN Archer has been handed his first senior international call-up.

Archer, 24, has been named in Scotland boss Gordon Strachan’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Malta.

Scotland are in Vilnius on September 1 and play Malta at Hampden Park three days later.

Archer’s mother and his grandparents are from Glasgow, and the goalkeeper has represented the country at under-19, under-20 and under-21 level.

Archer will be Scotland’s third choice behind Celtic's Craig Gordon and Hull City's Allan McGregor.
