MILLWALL have finally landed another of their main targets this summer, after confirmation Jake Cooper has arrived from Championship rivals Reading for an undisclosed fee.
Cooper, 22, has signed a three-year-deal with the Lions to become boss Neil Harris’ sixth recruit of the close season.
Millwall agreed a fee with the Royals for centre-back Cooper last month, but were frustrated in their efforts to push ahead with the transfer.
But any remaining issues have been resolved, and Cooper travelled to south London on Friday for his medical and to complete the formalities of the deal.
Despite joining Millwall just a week before they open their Championship campaign against Nottingham Forest, fitness is not an issue for Cooper, after he was fully involved in Reading's pre-season preparations. He could be in line to feature against Granada in Millwall’s final pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Cooper spent the second half of last season on loan with Millwall, playing 18 times and scoring two goals as the Lions won promotion to the Championship.
