Fulham were handed huge boosts earlier in the summer when Ryan Sessegnon, the prodigiously gifted left-sided player who had been linked with a multi-million pound move to Tottenham, Manchester United or Liverpool, signed a new long-term deal.

Midfielder Tom Cairney, who scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists to help Fulham to a place in the play-offs where they lost to Reading, was also linked with a £20million move to Newcastle but the Scottish international signed a new four-year contract in early July.

Fulham have seen a lot more outgoings than incomings this summer so far as they look to push on and return to the Premier League. Former Millwall left-back Scott Malone left to join Huddersfield for their first season in the top flight since 1972.

Fulham are one of the favourites for the title, but will surely miss the experienced Scott Parker in central midfield this season. With former Watford manager Slaviska Jokanovic in charge, they have someone who is very tactically competent. He knows when and how to adapt in different situations and against different opposition depending on what the Cottagers expect.

Jokanovic strengthened his defence by spending almost £3million bringing in Ibrahima Cisse and Marcelo Djalo.

The arrivals are unlikely to be finished yet with Malone still to be replaced. Jokanovic also wants a striker and Fulham have been linked with a move for Uruguayan forward Diego Rolan.
