A double swoop on relegated Rotherham didn’t exactly inspire confidence in Bluedirds fans, as boss Neil Warnock snapped up experienced goalkeeper Lee Camp and striker Danny Ward.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing impressed for Rochdale against Millwall last season and the versatile attacker could prosper in the Championship.
Right-back Callum Paterson has also joined from Hearts for an undisclosed fee.
Adam le Fondre left to join Bolton, while Emyr Huws signed for Ipswich Town after a successful loan spell last season with the Tractor Boys.
Peter Whittingham also departed after more than 400 games for the club, and he will be trying to help Blackburn Rovers back to the second tier next season. Warnock replaced him with Loic Darmour from the French second division.
Warnock will be hoping that striker Kenneth Zohore continues his impressive development. Despite being only 23 Zohore has already been on the books of seven clubs.
He joined Cardiff initially on loan from Belgian club KV Kortrijk in February 2016 before making the move permanent that summer. He eventually started to fire in December last year, hitting 12 goals in 23 league games before following that up with two strikes for Denmark in the under-21 European Championships this summer.

The last time Millwall beat Cardiff City was in October 2014, when Danny Shittu scored a header in a game where David Forde made an amazing double save.
