Millwall have enquired about Cooper fee

MILLWALL haven’t been able to agree a fee yet for Reading defender Jake Cooper.

Cooper played 18 games and scored twice for the Lions on loan from the Royals last season, and Millwall have spoken to their Championship rivals about a fee for the centre-back.

Reading want to sell Cooper, 22, but Millwall will have to out-bid any other interested clubs.

Neil Harris wants to sign a centre-back and a right-back, with Shaun Cummings set to depart after his contract expired.

But the club seems no closer to bringing in Cooper on a permanent deal.

Harris said: “Jake Cooper is Reading’s player. We’ve made enquiries about his availability and about a fee.”
