Millwall on the road on Championship opening day

MILLWALL will open their 2017-18 Sky Bet Championship campaign with a trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest.

That will be followed by the first round of the League Cup against Stevenage, before the Lions’ first home league game of the season against Bolton Wanderers, who were also promoted from League One last season.

Millwall’s first London derby will be on Tuesday, September 12, coincidentally against Queens Park Rangers. QPR boss Ian Holloway was sacked by Millwall in March 2015, and his successor Neil Harris guided the Lions to promotion back to the Championship in his second full season in charge.

Millwall will have a home fixture on Boxing Day against Wolverhampton Wanderers. That’s followed by QPR at home on December 30 before the first game of 2018, at Norwich City on January 1.

The first meeting with a relegated Premier League side will be at Sunderland on November 18.

Millwall’s last league game of 2017-18 will be at home to Aston Villa on Sunday, May 6.

There will be four international breaks next season.

Clubs have until noon on Wednesday, June 28 to propose any alterations to the draft schedule.
